CONNECT-Asia Presented Asian Internet Pioneers in MyREN Seminar
Malaysia Research and Education Network, MYREN, successfully conducted international seminar “Harnessing Technology for Global Collaboration” in 27 and 28 July 2010 in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The two days seminar brings expert speakers from international and local organization. One of the most anticipated sessions in the seminar was “Reflection and Vision of Asian Internet: Panel of Luminaries”. This collaboration discussion brings together initiators and internet experts of Asian and European Research and Network from MyREN (Malaysia), (INHERENT) Indonesia, (PREGINET) Philippines, canalAVIST (Thailand), SOI-Asia (Japan) and other invited speakers from LEARN (Sri Lanka) and TEIN3 (Europe). Lasted more than 4 hours, experts presented their speech remotely from their home country via video conference.

In the context for exchange of knowledge and expertise between the research and education community locally and globally, UNESCO Jakarta through CONNECT-Asia supports Indonesian Higher Education Network (INHERENT), Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) to participate in Malaysian Research and Education Network (MyREN) International Seminar Plenary Session 2: “Reflection and Vision of Asian Internet: Panel of Luminaries” in 27 July 2010.
